NAME: John
GENDER: Male
AGE: 51 years old
APPEARANCE:
SIDE: Teacher (Killer)
PERSONALITY: (combined with "History")"Jigsaw is probably the most interesting serial killer in modern American horror. He's intelligent, calculated, and very methodical. He observes certain people, and finds out everything there is to know about them, before he picks them to be victims for his deadly games. Creating elaborate and deadly puzzles for his victims, he actually wants his victims to live. To work through his puzzles and fight to stay alive, in order to appreciate the life they have. The problem is, people almost never survive his puzzles because they're pretty brutal. They force the victims to make decisions like kill-or-be-killed, and how much of their own blood are they willing to spill to save themselves. The puzzles are interesting to watch, horrifying to consider, and make Jigsaw pretty unique in a world of kitchen knife psycho killer films. The fact that he isn't technically doing the killing, and that he didn't want any of his victims to die, makes him an intriguing character that's a lot more clever than any one-liner Freddys."--World of Saw"How can we not love a psycho killer who's so into ironic punishments? Well, technically, Jigsaw's not a killer and he's not punishing, although man, it sure seems like a lot of bad people get punished by getting killed in his traps. In SAW II, Jigsaw continues to collect people who don't appreciate their lives, and he puts them in situations where they have to fight to keep alive, to make them realize how precious life is.
The amazing part about Jigsaw is how committed he is to his principles and his games. Very early in the film, the police CATCH Jigsaw, an old man dying of cancer, who's hooked up to the medical apparatuses that keep him alive (he obviously can't run away from their custody). If the police follow the rules of his games, they can KEEP him and incarcerate him etc. But if they break the rules he gives them, interesting things start to happen."--World of Saw
"He's the puppet master behind everything, directing chaos from the shadows in his cloak. And he's just taken on an apprentice. Of course, being the dark lord that he is, not even his apprentice is safe from his tests and brutal, deadly tutelage, and if his apprentice doesn't survive, he can find a better, more powerful one. If you ask him, he will tell you that his evil plans are actually for the good of society.
... No matter how evil he is, he's still interesting, which is so much more than we can say for 99% of the other horror villains. As much as a lot of recent horror films have tried to reinvent old horror monsters, they just don't make us think, "Hmm, I wonder what he's up to now." Whereas with Jigsaw, we go to his movies to find out exactly that. ... it turns out he's up to more evil plotting than anyone could imagine. ... "--World of Saw

HISTORY:I used to not care about life- when it came to taking action... well... there was always tomorrow. ... But that all changed. It is all because of a man that could not cherish the life of others and was too concentrated on getting the drugs; he killed my unborn child- my only child. His name was Cecil. He had broken into my loving wife's, Jill's, clinic to help those that needed it most. I will admit that my faithful relationship with my Jill had became stressed and we had divorced after that. But, I do love her.
Years went by but my love still endured, but my body did not. Every night I'd come home and puke my guts out. Every day I'd wake up feeling a little bit weaker. It was then, I met, the now deceased, Dr. Lawrence Gordon. After a failed attempt at suicide to rid my life of the pain, I had a new look on life. Now that my own life was slipping away, I paid closer attention to the lives of others. Although the pain is still unbearable, I see life as most do not- as a gift that should be cherished.
I discarded sleep, neglected meals, there was time only for my task, what I'd already come to think of as my mission. I started research to create my tests to teach others about life. Then I met Amanda, a heroin addict, that survived a trap of mine and has now appreciated life- she is working by my side to help further the change of what people have come to know life as and make it into something pleasurable.
